MOVEMENT for Democratic Change Alliance legislator Joana Mamombe currently in custody with two other activists Netsai Marova and Cecilia Chembiri, for faking their abductions has been tortured more than once.
On the 13th of November 2015, a group of female students led by Jonna through a protest for academic freedom were arrested, beaten up and tortured.
The then 23 years old Joana said Zimbabwe is a country with sad academic history, female students are harassed, tortured, sexually abused and beaten up for demanding better learning conditions.
Mamombe said she will fight for a country with democracy, academic freedom and good government.
