Thomas Luthuli Brickhill a Zimbabwean filmmaker says the motivation to make ‘Cook Off’ was to change the Zimbabwean narrative by the World at large.
Luthuli said the narative that comes out of Africa more specifically Zimbabwe is the single narrative about the political and economic woes, thus he felt the need to expand the narrative and change the perception.
‘Cook Off’ has won multiple awards including Best Film and has been selected for over 20 International festivals worldwide.
He said, ‘Cook Off’ is romantic comedy that tells a story that Zimbabwe is not backward, its about love, family and the joy people get from reality cooking shows.
