Zimbabwe People Power Movement Leader Albert Matapo has denied that his organization is behind the message doing the rounds on Whatsapp that Zimbabweans Should March to the state House on Friday.
Matapo said his movement is currently busy with their United Nations Petition which will form the foundation for future actions.
The message doing the rounds reads:
To all the people of Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
I’m not going to say my name, you will all know me on Friday the 5th of June 2020
We have reached a level where we are not going to wait for anyone to tell us to act, be prepared to go to the streets, and when we go to the street we are going straight to whoever is tormenting us.
This is not for MDC this is not for any other party, its for the people of Zimbabwe.
Our fathers were killed, our women are abused, are children are suffering and they keep on arresting and destroying the opposition parties in order to keep themselves in power.
We are going to stand up and fight, Friday the 5th of June 2020 is our day for the first movement.
They may destroy the opposition but cannot destroy the people’s movement.
LET EVERY Zimbabwean ACROSS THE WORLD WRITE ON HIS STATUS THAT Friday the 5th IS OUR FREEDOM DAY
we are calling upon our children our youth our mothers our fathers and our friends to join us.
Friday the 5th we are going to the streets wherever you are go into the streets and go after every Zanu pf leader who have tormented anyone before in all cities
Harare we are all going to state house, we are not going to meet anywhere else because they now know that strategy, let’s all meet at State house.
We are not going to give time of meeting, everyone just wake up and go to state house.
We must do this together, we must not run away we must be prepared to die and let’s die for our nation
