Advocate Thabani Mpofu has been detained in police cells at Rhodesville Police Station following charges of using an application in the name of Simbarashe Zuze a non existent person.
His lawyer Beatrice Mthethwa said that Advocate Mpofu is being accused of something that was already proven to be bogus.
Mtetwa said the allegations were not new they were investigated by the Law Society of Zimbabwe and the Law and Order section of the ZRP last year.
“The Zuze person was interviewed and they confirmed he exists. So it’s extremely surprising that now, suddenly, he’s being locked up for this,” Mtetwa said
Advocate Thabani Mpofu is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
