Thokozani Khupe acting President of the MDC T on Saturday visited Tsvangirai’s mother and the late founder of the party’s gravesite in Humanikwa Village in Buhera.

Khupe was in the company of Morgen Komichi, Douglas Mwonzora and Elias Mudzuri.

Khuphe took the opportunity to visit the homestead in Humanikwa village where she sought refugee from attack during the funeral service at Tsvangirai’s funeral.

In a press statement from the party’s communications department, the purpose of the visit was to give some items towards the welfare of Gogo Tsvangirai which included foodstuffs.

The MDC faction led by Chamisa was not pleased and slammed Khuphe and Mwonzora for visiting Gogo Tsvangirai. There were claims in MDC groups that Mwonzora pefomed rituals at Tsvangirai’s grave. Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya claimed the MDC-T leaders were chanting Chamisa ‘s name at Tsvangirai’ s Grave.

Other complaints raised by the MDC Alliance was that the group visited without masks exposing Gogo Tsvangirai to the coronavirus.

However, the MDC-T leaders said the visit was a way to formally apologize to the Tsvangirai family about the ill treatment that Gogo Tsvangirai suffered at the hands of some youths including the vanguard during her son’s funeral.

All of Tsvangirai’s younger brothers including Collins and Manasa Tsvangirai are said to have been present during the visit.
