Douglas Mwonzora today announced that 3500 Delegates have confirmed their attendance at the MDC Extraordinary Congress which will be held on 31 July 2020 .

This was said at a press conference addressed by Douglas Mwonzora, Elias Mudzuri, Morgan Komichi and two members of the guardian council.

Mwonzora said a National council meeting and 2 standing committee meetings have been held since the Supreme court ruling on 31 March 2020.

Mwonzora said the dismissal of the four MPs was ratified by a National council meeting on the 9th of May in terms of the MDC Alliance agreement.

Mwonzora said a group of 30 people met yesterday at Morgan Tsvangirai House and held a purported National Council Meeting.

Mwonzora said a National Council meeting is called by the SG and is chaired by the National Chairman and must be convened by the President.

Mwonzora said the meeting held yesterday was chaired by Murisi Zvizvai and had many people who were not in the 2014 structures, including MDC Green and PDP.

It was therefore not a National council Meeting.
