David Coltart, the MDC Alliance National Treasure, this kprming failed to explain how the MDC Alliance became a political party.
While correctly explaining what happened to the MDC-T, Coltart failed to explain how MDC-T MPs became MDC Alliance MPs. And how they left the MDC-T, similarly for PDP.
Coltart said the withdrawal of MPs from parliament by MDC T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora is a serious breach of the constitution.
He said, section 129 of the constitution only allows parliamentarians to be withdrawn from parliament by the party they stood under when they were elected into power.
Coltart said Mwonzora had no right to recall the MPs, the decision is absurd and is a fundamental breach of the constitution.
Senator Coltart said the supreme court ruling is very clear in that it refers to MDC T therefore MDC A is not affected.
