The South African Portifo Committee on Home Affairs Today visited Lindela Holding Centre where over over 38 illegal immigrants escaped last week.

The committee told journalists that there were now only 550 illegal immigrants at Lindela Repatriation Centre, most of them Malawians.

The Malawians will soon be deported after all formalities are completed with their embassy.

The committee told journalists that problems at Lindeka arose after the liquidation of Bosasa. Some of the service providers brought in did not do their work and will be removed.

However, the concerns of the employees will be addressed by their employers and are not the responsibility of the department.
