South Africa’s Auditor General will probe the contract for the R37 Million, 49km Beitbridge border fence.

Public works minister Patricia de Lille told the parliament it could take several months before the $37 million contract is investigated .

This follows criticism to veer away from standard tender procedure and questions about whether the contract was value for money.

The fence has been completed but it has come under attack from border jumpers and smugglers with some parts of it damaged and some removed
