Zimbabwe has recorded two new confirmed covid-19 cases bringing the total to seven from five cases.

The report shows that two female contacts of 52 year old male who travelled from Dubai were infected by him.

Two members of the deceased Zororo Makamba ‘s family have tested positive to coronavirus.

Makamba succumbed to the pandemic virus early this week at Wilkins hospital.

The ministry has urged everyone to maintain social distancing by avoiding close contact with anyone wh is unwell, coughing or sneezing.

“Our teams are currently seized with enhanced surveillance through contact tracing, by following up all known cases of these cases”, read the statement.

Last night Emmerson Mnangagwa announced a total lockdown of the country for 21 days in a bid to contain the outbreak of the virus amid increasing number of suspected cases.

The security forces will deployed to enforce the 21-day the national lockdown.
