Media Statement
Immediate release

16 December 2019

As has become the expected albeit negative norm in Zimbabwe, road accidents record a peak during holiday season and especially during the festive period. It is unfortunate that LEAD President, Linda Masarira has become a statistic in this regard, with a minor road accident that occurred late evening yesterday along Lomagundi road, where her car had a fault with the suspension and veered off the road.

We are thankful that no one was injured in this mishap, and we are grateful for the police and community members who came to the scene and rendered their assistance. As LEAD, we urge all motorists to be safe on the roads and to ensure that their vehicles are also roadworthy, so as to avoid road carnage.

We wish every Zimbabwean a pleasant festive season and encourage the act of giving to the less privileged than ourselves, as we celebrate the gift of life through the spirit of Ubuntu/Hunhu.
