Zimbabwe Born Peter Moyo ‘s Court Case Takes New Twist

Zimbabwe born Peter Moyo, Old Mutual CEO, on Friday returned to the Mpumalanga high Court where he brought contempt of Court charges against his former employers Old Mutual.

The presiding judge, Brian Mashile, was forced to recuse himself after Peter Moyo ‘s legal team included statements made against the judge by Trevor Manuel (Old Mutual Chairperson).

Old Mutual has refused to let Peter Moyo back into his office despite two previous rulings that Peter Moyo should be allowed to go back to work.

The bitter fight between Manuel and Moyo has wiped R17 Billion off Old Mutual ‘s JSE Market Capitalisation.

In May, Peter Moyo was suspended over dividend payments he received for his NMT Capital which he founded before rejoining Old Mutual from Alexandra Forbes this year.

Judgement in the case in which Peter Moyo is challenging his dismissal has been postponed to 2020.
