At least 13 Zimbabweans are awaiting trial for drug trafficking in Mauritius and 4 young women have already been been sentenced to 20 years each.

They were allegedly recruited by Blessing Tafadzwa Marufu , a Zimbabwean Based in South Africa who is married to Kenneth Mutsena.

The young people are aged between 25-27 and were promised jobs and only knew about the real work when they were already recruited.

They were arrested on the 4th of October and had no representatives or even family as they also did not know about their whereabouts.

On of the ladies is said to have left a 9 months old sick baby to look for money to take care of her family.

Reports are saying , they is still room for appeal if they find a right team of lawyers to represent them.
