The MDC has lashed out on Emmerson Mnangagwa for using heavy handed tactics to close the democratic space before announcing their plan to roll out fresh protests.

In a statement issued by Amos Chibaya, he said now is the time for action to free the suffering citizens.

“Police this year banned several MDC gatherings saying they feared the events would turn out violent so my message to you all is that time for change is now. No one can free us but ourselves.

The debilitating crisis of Zimbabwe now demands action. On November 17 2017 we jumped from a frying pan into the fire after the coup,” he said.

Chibaya said it is now time to pour into the streets and send a clear message to the dictator that enough is enough.

NewsDay records that Chibaya’ s statement follows after the courts cleared him on treason charges.
