General Chiwenga has controversially returned to Zimbabwe on the evening or 22 November 2019.
He was received by the Chinese Embassy Officials in a strange occurrence that signals the conflict in the higher levels of the Zimbabwe Government.
Factional fighting between ED Mnangagwa and General Chiwenga is set to intensity as each side seeks to stammp their authority.
It is expected that both factions will try to remove the other. However, the ED Mnangagwa Faction has had more time to plot and will likely make the first move.
The return of General Chiwenga also signals problems for Mary Chiwenga as she was suspected of being part of his poisoning.
General Chiwenga is seen as the only man who can tell ED Mnangagwa what to do.
It remains to be seen how the situation plays out as the Chinese have reportedly told ED Mnangagwa to resign.
Mthuli Ncube, Nelson Chamisa, Mai Mujuru and Oppah Muchinguri will all have to rethink their strategies after the arrival of General Chiwenga.
