MDC Deputy National Chairperson Job Sikhala has been indicted for trial on charges of plotting to overthrow President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government, ZLHR has said
In a statement issued by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) on their twitter handle, Sikhala will appear before Masvingo High Court from 27-31January, 2020.
He is being represented by the ZLHR.
Sikhala allegedly told MDC supporters that President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be overthrown before 2023.
According to the Zimbabwean constitution, Sikhala is being charged wit subversion in which any person who supports or assist any group in taking over, attempting to overthrow, coerce or attempting to coerce the government is liable to a 20 year imprisonment.
