Hillside teacher’s college an affiliate college of the University of Zimbabwe will start offering degree courses from next year.
The college will start off with an in-service bachelor of education degree on their first intake in February 2020.
The degree programme will develop holders of certificates and diploma in education qualifications . Applicants must have Maths, Science and English in addition to their professional qualifications.
The degree programme will focus in four ares namely Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The duration of the study will be two years part time.
Applications must be submitted to the attention of the principal at Hillside teachers’ s college before 31 October 2019.
The goverment is trying to solve the challenges regarding the shortage of science teachers who resigned for greener pastures . Teachers have been leaving the service due to poor wages and poor service.
