There was a public outcry in Bulawayo as the residents are heavily disheartened by the selection criteria being used by Mpilo Central Hospital on selecting their student nurses. Over 83percent of nurses at Mpilo are Non locals.
The residents claim that out of the 24 that were recently selected, 20 were not from the Matebeleland Province. They also claimed that most of them failed to access the website as the internet is not as flexible and solid as is in other provinces.
The online applying system was brought about by the Ministry of Health and Child Care after the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission investigated and noticed the shocking levels of bribery and corruption in the existing system.
