Following 23 candidates who participated in the 2018 Harmonised Elections,the Zimbabwean Government has set out new regulations for Presidential aspirants in future.

This move is to weed out jokers from the presidential race and not to waste resources during elections.

The new regulations requires aspirants,

• to be nominated by at least 1 000 registered voters from the 10 provinces in Zimbabwe

•The participating nomination fee to rise from the $1 000
